Nothing Less Than Everything

A prayer I wrote before competing in one of my recent track meets!
The purpose behind it was to remind my heart and mind of the greater reality of life.
Jesus is everything. He is my why.

I hope this can be an encouragement to the one who needs to slow down and remember what truly matters.

Father,

Here I am,
Here I am to offer myself to you. My thoughts, my feelings, my actions, and my striving. I lay it all before You.

You are my why, Jesus.

The moment I met You, I understood.
I understood why people devote their lives to You. Why they surrender comfort, control, and certainty for the sake of knowing You. With clearer eyes than ever I see who You are and have felt Your heart for me. You are gentle, patient, and full of love.

So much so that You came to this earth
and took on flesh, pain, and suffering. You died the death I deserved. You hung on that rugged cross - bearing my sin, my shame, my weakness and turned it into my salvation.

You left Your throne in heaven
to bend low and serve those who could offer nothing in return. You chose the cross over the crown, so that I might be made new.

Your love is all consuming and pursuing, Father.
A love that does not waver when I fall short or when my faith feels small. And I choose to love You in response because of the sacrifice You made thousands of years ago & because of the grace You extend to me daily.

May the weight of the cross never be lost on me.
Slow my heart when the world feels loud. May my mind be firm in truth. Teach me to live with gratitude, humility, and reverence for You.

Because You truly are everything, and You are worth it all.

“ Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”

Philippians 2: 5-11

Jesus is WORTHY of everything

Because He did everything when we could do nothing.
